The TRUTH Network Guide
The
TRUTH Network: Treating Tobacco Dependence explains
the 5 A's of tobacco control, available pharmacological
therapies, statewide cessation programs and fax referral
to the Utah Tobacco Quit Line. The Public Health Service
Guideline summary is also included. Two pamphlets to
share with patients accompany the guide, one for orienting
patients to the Quit Line (when they fill out a fax
referral form) and another to motivate patients who
are not ready to quit.

You Can Make A Difference
Even
brief advice to quit using tobacco by a healthcare provider
is proven to motivate quitting and significantly increase
the chances of quitting success. If the healthcare provider
also provides patients with quitting medications and
refers patients to cessation support programs, their
chances of quitting success are even higher*.
