  • Assist: help the patient make plans to quit
  • Arrange Follow-Up: schedule a follow-up to monitor progress

The TRUTH Network Guide

Treating Tobacco Dependence explains the "5 A's" of tobacco control more thoroughly. It also includes the Public Health Service Guideline summary. It provides pamphlets to share with patients, including a pamphlet for orienting patients to the Quit Line and another to motivate patients who are not ready to quit. Download them below.
