Introduction
The State of Utah Tobacco Cessation Resource Directory is provided as a public service by the Tobacco Prevention & Control Program, Utah Department of Health. The directory’s purpose is to assist tobacco users and health professionals in locating cessation resources within their local area.

Information included in the directory was provided by the agencies and organizations listed. The Tobacco Prevention & Control Program does not endorse or guarantee services of any of the agencies/organizations listed. Also, failure of a cessation agency/organization to be listed does not mean non-endorsement of that program. Directory information, including, but not limited to, fees, structure, and location are subject to change without notice. Users of the directory are encouraged to contact agencies/organizations directly for the most current information.

If you are using tobacco and want to stop, there are many resources to help you. Though most people who quit using tobacco do so on their own, it is often the support and/or referral to credible sources by family, friends, and health professionals that make individual efforts successful. No one tobacco cessation method is necessarily best for everyone. Matching your unique characteristics with those methods best suited to you will increase your chance of being able to stop using tobacco. Sometimes using more than one method at a time, such as nicotine gum or patch along with a smoking cessation group, will increase your chances for successfully quitting.

Be aware that it often takes 2 to 5 serious attempts to quit before the average person is able to stay tobacco-free. If you are able to quit in fewer attempts - - great! If not, don’t be discouraged. It’s not easy to give up tobacco, but with each serious attempt the likelihood you will some day be tobacco-free increases dramatically. Finally, give yourself credit for trying to quit. Being able to stop using tobacco is a major accomplishment in your life. We hope you’ll find the resources in the directory helpful.
